Welcome to the website of the Orange Chair at the School of Telecommunication Engineering (Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación - ETSIT) of the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - UPM). This Chair constitutes a practical demonstration of synergy possibilities between University and Company.

The Orange Chair has the purpose of focusing the know-how that Orange enjoys on a national and international level in the field of Network Science, specially of Social Networks, through the School of Telecommunication Engineering (ETSIT) of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), because of its pioneer nature, prestige, career and leadership, to apply this emerging science of big potential and exceptional possibilities within R&D in multiple disciplines and projects, just as in the field of teaching and in the academic world.

The Orange Chair, under the direction and approach of Network Science, is characterized by having an integral orientation towards innovation, R&D and generation of knowledge and value. This way, our Chair enjoys a self identity based on Orange’s values (closeness, creativity, honesty, dynamism and simplicity), just as the leadership nature, enterprising in the pursuit of the best results in an effectiveness and lively way.

The work of the Orange Chair is supported by the departments of Telematic Systems Engineering and Mathematics Applied to Information Technologies of the UPM.
